You need to review the available products and check the brands the suppliers are dealing with. Every piece of equipment should have certification and an approved tag. When you don't check these factors, you may end up buying the wrong product. Therefore, go through the categories and check the verification.
• Check For Specifications And Features
When you are buying the equipment in bulk to meet your daily testing needs, review the specifications and features. The product specifications are mentioned in detail for the buyers on the online sites. As per your requirement, you can choose the right laboratory supplies. You can check the description section, specification, and user manuals, such as the product's video, to know in detail.
• Go For Combo Or Multiple Equipment Options
The suppliers sell products and equipment such as test tubes, testing kits, filtered tips etc., in multiple or combo kits. At the same time, buying in bulk, opt for combo kits to get in the discounted price range. But for large equipment, you won't get a combo option; you must add multiple quantities to the cart.
• Choose Cost Effective Equipment Supplier
Avoid suppliers who charge expensively for scientific equipment. You will find suppliers who provide lab equipment in affordable ranges. Some service providers also offer discount rates and sale prices. Always try to find cost-effective solutions when buying in bulk.
• Choose Easy To Use Equipment
The science field is now quite advanced. The laboratory equipment is now equipped and upgraded with advanced techniques for rapid testing and results. Always prefer suppliers who supply updated and advanced brands. Stay away from outdated and conventional supplies.
• Check For Flexible Payment And Delivery Methods
These are the most important factors to ensure when you are purchasing scientific equipment online. Check out and confirm that flexible payment options are available. Also, check the delivery modes and shipping details. Ensure the product reaches within the time period.
These are the major things to consider to buy lab equipment online. You can get favorable buying procedures when you go for certified suppliers online.
Ever wonder about our oil analysis and oil condition monitoring services – what the difference is, or how it can benefit your company? Well, we got the scoop from one of our very own technical engineers, Kaityln Palombo, on all your top questions. Read below to learn more about these two services.
What is oil analysis and how can it help companies?
Oil analysis is an activity allowing companies to monitor the health of their lubricants within machinery. Very similar to how a doctor orders a blood test to monitor the health of their patients. Oil analysis not only helps the companies understand the condition of the lubricant, but also the condition of the machine. There are many different variations of oil analysis, but the most common tests performed during the oil analysis are elemental analysis, moisture level, particle counts, and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) spectroscopy. These tests can tell a company if they are having machine wear, contamination ingression, or even water ingression.
What types of industries should consider implementing oil analysis?
I would suggest oil analysis within any type of industry that relies heavily on equipment to meet demands, i.e. mining, manufacturing, refining, etc.
How does our oil analysis program differ from other companies?
Our oil analysis program differs from other companies by the quality of the analysis. By quality, I mean, any lab can perform an oil analysis and will send you results. Where Breaux Petroleum differs is the in-depth look you get from experienced eyes. Breaux Petroleum will help interpret oil analysis sample results to a level anyone can understand and assist in finding the possible root cause of issues shown through oil analysis.

How often do you recommend a company receives an oil analysis?
The frequency of oil analysis depends on the machinery type, the frequency of use, and the load in which the machine runs under.
Can an oil analysis be performed while a unit is in operation?
Yes, as long as there is a safe way to pull a sample while the machinery is in operation an analysis can be run.
How long does an oil analysis usually take?
This depends on the type of test being performed and the lab it is being sent to. Some labs are busier than others and some tests are more complicated than others. The rough timeframe I give most customers is 3-5 days once the lab receives the sample.
What is included in an oil analysis report? Can you help customers understand their reports?
What is included depends on the type of tests being performed, but the most common information on oil analysis reports are the viscosity, wear metals, water ppm, ISO cleanliness code, and contaminants. Yes, our team can review the report, explain the report to the customer, and give recommendations on what to do to help prevent any issues I see.
What is the difference between oil analysis and oil monitoring?
Oil analysis can give more information than oil monitoring. Oil monitoring usually focuses on a decline in viscosity or an increase in particle count, in real time.
Oil Condition monitoring (OCM) is where you monitor the overall health of the machinery with vibration analysis, thermography, and inspections. OCM is used to find/detect failures that have already occurred or will occur. Oil analysis can show you signs of issues earlier than condition monitoring and allow the machine owner to make changes to prevent failure.
What are the benefits of oil analysis?
The benefits of oil analysis are to monitor the internal health of your machinery, allowing the machine owner to find and catch early failure mechanisms ultimately preventing machine failure. For instance, oil analysis can show wear debris from bearings. Seeing the wear debris in the oil can alert the machine owner to check the alignment or for any vibration issues and fix them before a full failure occurs.
What are the main things you look at when performing oil analysis?
When looking at oil analysis reports, history is a big factor to pay attention to. Trending the results from past analysis reports can help determine if there is a small problem getting bigger or if there is something new popping up. Another helpful diagnostic tool with oil analysis, is speaking with the customer about their piece of machinery to understand its history. Has it been rebuilt recently? Is it brand new? What conditions is the machine operating? Inside a warehouse? Outside in the elements? All of these factors play a role in the oil analysis report and how we help our customers diagnose a potential problem.
Should companies receive both oil monitoring services and oil analysis?
This depends on the type of maintenance program you are running. If you are doing oil analysis and performing a condition-based maintenance strategy, then yes, I recommend coupling that with condition monitoring to obtain a full picture of what your equipment is telling you. I would not recommend oil analysis or condition monitoring on run-to-failure equipment.
What happens after each service is performed?
After an oil sample is sent to the lab, the lab will complete all tests required then send the results to Breaux and the customer. I will then read the report and send the customer the lab results again, with an explanation of what the lab is saying along with recommendations on steps to take to better their oil quality. Whether it be filtering, drain and refill, drain, perform sacrificial flush and refill, etc. If the customer is unsure of my recommendation or has concerns, they are always welcome to reach out to me to discuss the best path forward for their equipment. I think that is the best part of the services our customers get through Breaux. The collaboration and team effort to make their equipment run smoothly. Often there is more than one answer to a problem, we just have to find the answer that works best for our customers.
